Assisting our frontline workers during COVID 19
When the COVID pandemic hit NYC, health systems were overloaded and our front line workers struggled to keep up with the rise in cases. After speaking to healthcare professionals, I was surprised to learn that many hospitals didn’t have access to coffee, either because it isn't provided for free or local shops were closed. Doctors and nurses were working long hours and oftentimes without breaks. This was a big problem.
To help out in a small way, I teamed up with a friend and launched Coffee For Healthcare Heroes. Our mission was to get medical professionals free caffeine to power them through the stressful day.
We launched a GoFundMe and partnered with a few coffee distributers like Rise and XD Coffee. Thanks to hundreds of donors, we sent over 7 thousand cups of coffee, over 150 lbs of ground coffee and over 1,100 coffee makers to 40+ hospitals in the New York area!
